About CADDGuru

This is an experimental page, different from other website and blog posts because it will stay in one place and will show up in my site navigation, unless I start experimenting with other “themes.” Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors, with verbiage like this:

Hi there! I’m a CADD Consultant, Adjunct Professor, aspiring pilot, triathlete, Civil Engineering student, and this is my website. I live in Southern California with my wife and two youngest children, have a great dog named Burrito, like paella, nacatamales and dancing tango with my wife.

…or something like this:

CADDGuru’s origins go way back to 1986 when I started a consulting drafting firm with my father, specializing on the creation of as-built drawings primarily for structural engineers working on Division 88 Earthquake Hazard Reduction projects in the City of Los Angeles. Since then our services have expanded to include 3D modeling and project coordination taking advantage of Virtual Design and Construction, as well as Building Information Modeling workflows. One of my favorite tasks is to mentor the next generation of AEC professionals, something I primarily do via interactive, teleconference classes and lectures.

I love surveying, measuring and scanning terrains, buildings and objects. But even better, I love creating 3D model smart virtual replicas to improve our personal and professional lives. In particular, I love helping people conceive, design and realize their dream living, work, entertaining, inspiring and energizing spaces, rooms and buildings. It is amazing to see what happens when you realize what you really need and want.
